The Signature Series tripod is the basic oak tripod, but heaped with the most popular optional equipment, plus some extra equipment available only with the Signature Series tripods.  Combining all of these optional accessories in one deluxe package makes a great tripod, but more importantly, it saves you money.  I am very proud of this tripod, so proud that I put my name on every tripod set.  Here is a list of the standard features…

TRIPOD HEAD KNOBS:  Replaces standard wing nuts which are used to torque tripod to mount head.  The knobs allow the user more leverage to apply torque at this important joint without the need for tools, and thereby save you set up time.  In addition to the practical value of the knobs, they are also more aesthetically pleasing.  Head knobs (set of 3) are standard equipment with the Signature Series Tripod, but would otherwise cost $12.95 plus shipping for the set.

LEG CLAMP KNOBS:  Replaces standard thumb screws which are used to clamp legs at any desired height.  The knobs make it easier to clamp legs down and are more aesthetically pleasing.  Set of 3 knobs are standard equipment with the Signature Series Tripod, but would otherwise cost $13.95 plus shipping for the set.

CLAMP SCREW SHIELDS:  Available only with the Signature Series Tripod.  The metal screw shields are fastened permanently to outside leg where clamp screw contacts leg.  The shields eliminate the possibility of clamp screw damage to the leg over time and help to distribute the clamping pressure evenly

SPECIAL SPREADER ARMS:  Available only with the Signature Series Tripod.  Arms are fabricated extra long so as to increase the size of the tripod footprint and thereby enhance stability.  Arms are also machine polished to a high luster to enhance the aesthetics of the tripod.

NO SLIP JOINT: Center telescoping leg sections are built with tenons which ride in continuous mortises (grooves) that are machined into inside of outer leg segments. This system serves as a very strong and positive, slip proof guide over the complete travel of the telescoping leg. Mortise and tenon construction eliminates the necessity for upper leg clamps, thereby saving weight (approx. 6 lbs.) and keeping cost at a reasonable low level.
